Welcome to La Groie Distillery, at the heart of creation. Where the savoir-faire of our distillers comes to light.

Our distillation process has remained unchanged for centuries. Between October and March, our distilleries are busy day and night. Passionate artisans fill, monitor, and cosset the traditional Charentais copper stills - transforming wine into eau-de-vie.

Did you know? Double distillation is required to make eaux-de-vie for cognac. In the first, a raw spirit called 'brouillis' is produced.

The second distillation produces a much higher alcohol content. Only the middle part, the ‘heart’, is saved. This clear, colorless liquid is called 'eau-de-vie'.

Continue your tour with a visit to one of Hennessy's working ageing cellars, lined with oak casks hand-inscribed in chalk script. In this magical place, gain a better understanding of the ageing process and discover the natural phenomenon known as the “angels’ share”.

You will also have the privilege of visiting the historic 'Paradis' cellar — a repository for some of Maison Hennessy's oldest eaux-de-vie.

To conclude your experience, you will be invited to a guided tasting of our iconic Hennessy VSOP served in a cocktail and Hennessy X.O served neat, paired with Hennessy X.O chocolates. An epicurean adventure for spirit lovers.

Please note that for health reasons, pets are not allowed on the grounds.
